Hudson Ships Receive A+ Rating
New year, new goals!
We are delighted to have ended 2023 with all our fleet ships rating A+ and B(+).
Rightship’s https://platform.rightship.com Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Rating tool assesses a commercial ship’s output of emissions on a scale from A (most efficient) to E (least efficient). It is the first rating tool to incorporate new IMO regulations introduced in early 2023, including Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) values alongside Existing Vessel Design Index (EVDI) and Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). Essentially, the tool uses speed-corrected methodology, accounting for a vessel’s carbon emissions per nautical miles travelled over a period of time at a common speed.
An A rating is obviously the highest possible rating that our ships can receive.
So, as part of our sustainability initiatives to reduce GHG emissions, avoid sulfur pollution and comply with the 2050 climate goals, and offer the best quality transportation to our clients, our aim for 2024 is to achieve and maintain an A and B rating across our whole fleet.
